Position: Logistics Coordinator
Job Summary
Vertex Cargo International is looking for a highly organized and proactive Logistics Planning Coordinator to join our operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily freight activities, monitoring shipment progress, and ensuring cargo is transported safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role requires strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and close collaboration with customers, carriers, warehouse teams, and logistics partners to deliver exceptional freight solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate domestic and cross-border freight shipments from pickup through final delivery.
- Monitor shipment schedules and ensure cargo is transported according to planned timelines.
- Communicate effectively with customers, transportation partners, warehouse teams, and internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Prepare, review, and maintain shipping documents, transportation records, and operational reports.
- Work closely with customs representatives and logistics partners to support smooth cargo movement when required.
- Identify and resolve shipment delays, operational challenges, and transportation issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate logistics records and ensure all shipment information is properly documented.
- Ensure all logistics activities comply with company procedures, transportation regulations, and industry standards.
- Support daily logistics planning, route coordination, and operational scheduling to improve efficiency.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by providing timely updates and professional support throughout the shipping process.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
- Good understanding of freight forwarding, transportation, and logistics processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and logistics management software is an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a customer-focused mindset and commitment to operational excellence.
