Position: Logistics Operations Coordinator
Job Summary
Vertex Cargo International is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Operations Coordinator to manage daily transportation activities and support the smooth movement of cargo. The ideal candidate will work closely with drivers, freight partners, and internal logistics teams to coordinate shipments, improve operational efficiency, and ensure deliveries are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage daily transportation schedules to ensure efficient cargo movement.
- Allocate shipments to drivers and approved transportation partners.
- Track shipment progress and monitor deliveries to maintain on-time performance.
- Communicate shipment updates with customers, carriers, and internal departments.
- Plan efficient transportation routes to improve productivity and reduce operational costs.
- Maintain accurate transportation records, reports, and shipping documentation.
- Resolve transportation challenges and delivery-related issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure all transportation activities comply with company standards and industry regulations.
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to streamline cargo handling and dispatch operations.
- Prepare operational reports and recommend process improvements to enhance service quality.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and team coordination abilities.
- Good understanding of transportation processes and freight operations.
- Ability to analyze problems and make effective operational decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other standard business applications.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
