Position: Freight Forwarding Executive
Job Summary
Vertex Cargo International is seeking a motivated and experienced Freight Operations Specialist to oversee freight forwarding activities across air, sea, and road transportation. The ideal candidate will coordinate domestic and cross-border shipments, manage shipping documentation, and work closely with carriers, customers, and logistics partners to ensure cargo moves safely, efficiently, and on schedule while delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate import and export freight shipments across air, sea, and road transportation.
- Arrange cargo bookings with airlines, ocean carriers, and ground transportation providers.
- Prepare and verify shipping documentation, freight instructions, and transport records.
- Monitor shipment progress and provide customers with timely updates throughout the shipping process.
- Collaborate with customs brokers, logistics partners, and internal teams to ensure seamless cargo movement.
- Ensure all freight operations comply with transportation regulations, trade requirements, and company standards.
- Resolve shipment delays, documentation discrepancies, and operational challenges promptly and professionally.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with carriers, logistics partners, and clients.
- Maintain accurate shipment records, freight documentation, and operational reports.
- Identify opportunities to improve freight processes, service quality, and overall operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics operations, or supply chain management is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of air, sea, and road freight operations, shipping documentation, and transportation procedures.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple shipments while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and freight management systems.
- Customer-focused mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
